How was our republic form of government inspired by the bible?
Did you know that Jefferson received the blueprint for our unique form of a republic government from the bible?
Thomas Jefferson often referred to "ancient principles" (the bible) as the source for his ideas and inspiration in regards to the Declaration of Independence and the research and opinions he shared with other founding fathers who authored the Constitution.
Read exodus 18 :13-22. You will see how Moses switches gears from the style of "ruler's law" he learned while under Pharaoh influence to "People's law". This section of scripture basically show Moses setting up the first congress- pulling representatives from the people to govern the people! On top of this "Congress", Moses had the Council of Seventy that can be seen as a senate, Aaron and Joshua as VP's (internal affairs and military), and then himself at the head (president).
This is just the tip of the iceberg of Thomas Jefferson's "ancient principles".
